dorchacht: compiled history

( ooc: history info snagged from events; icly, prompted by a request from lux. this is incomplete, as there are some types of questions viren obviously wouldn't have thought to ask, or things he wouldn't have learned from other characters. it's handwritten in some lovely, neat writing [thanks, everett].

oocly, if there is something that you prefer struck from this, hmu! additionally, if there are any errors, feel free to lmk; viren may be hyper-methodical, but i sure af ain't.

DORCHACHT
"DREAM" DORCHACHT

• “There wasn’t a Dorchacht before Morgana rose up.” (public)*
• It's written that Morgana Drummond came alone. (history)*
• Morgana wasn’t the only Witch to arrive at Dorchaacht. She had not been bonded prior to her arrival. (resistance)*
• Morgana Drummond penned a book on dreamsharing, writing of her personal account with the experience. (Coven library)*

• There are no books that predate Morgana’s reign. The City suffered morally in having those texts about. All books of the past had been taken at some point. “Dorchacht is a city of the present, and of the future.” (librarians)*
• Most monsters cannot recall a life before Dorchacht. (resistance)*
• No older history to be found within Dorchacht. (library)*
• Most individuals do no recall a place outside the walls of Dorchacht.*
• Aefenglom is the "older sister" of Dorchacht. Connections between Aefenglom and Dorchacht became more restricted over the decades. Yet, the Coven surely kept track of other cities; Morgana had been directed to Dorchacht at some point. Dorchacht likely became worse over the years. (info exchange w/ eren)*

• Allegedly, Monsters once used their ease of carrying the Cwyld as a biological threat against the city. (public)*

• Dragons were once bound to the Coven itself. (auctioneer)*

• The Fae were driven out ages ago. (auctioneer)*
• The Fae were killed, deemed too dangerous to continue existing. (resistance)*
• Legend says that the Fae selfishly kept the secret of magic to themselves. Once humanity stumbled upon it, and began to use magic to their own benefit, the Fae grew jealous and angry. They then cursed the lands with the Cwyld. (citizens)*

• Resistance has been around for “a little while” as compared to Morgana's rule. The Resistance’s leader has still been able to escape the Coven’s grasp.*
• Apparently, “a little while” translates to about half a decade.*

• The skies in Dorchacht have been darkened as long as Resistance Monsters can recall. (resistance)*
• As to the darkness, again, it is unknown as to whether it began during Morgana’s leadership or has always been that way.*

• There are no records of any infection outbreaks nor anything involving the Dragon or Faekind contained within the Library. (library)*

• Dorchacht has always been this way, as far as the revolutionaries can recall. (resistance)*
• There is no history of Mirrorbound. The mirrors are used in the same manner as the native Witches of Aefenglom. (resistance)*

• There has always been some sort of 'resistance' in place, since Dorchacht began its enslavement. Its concept has been in existence for approximately three-hundred years. In its current form, it is approximately a century old. The current head perfected the most recent procedure as to controlling Monsters. (resistance)*
• The Resistance's leader was "made an example of." (resistance)*

• Monsters were once exterminated on sight. However, containing them is now considered more practical, particularly as a source of labor. This has been sanctioned by the Coven and has been this way for centuries. (history)*
